I spent nearly twenty years working in private industry before creating Birch River Financial, and I am often asked what led me to start my own firm. Simply put, I felt like something was missing.
Primarily focused on navigating complex challenges and shifting priorities within corporate environments from behind a computer screen, I was rarely able to make personal connections with customers.
I was never able to see a customer’s concern or anxiety in the face of a significant challenge, or the subsequent relief and gratitude they experienced when that problem was solved. This bothered me and left me professionally unfulfilled.
The businesses that people create are amazing, and the myriad ways in which individuals earn income and generate wealth are simply fascinating. Our world is increasingly data-driven and results-oriented, but every successful venture always comes down to the courage, determination, and brilliance of people.
I wanted to be closer to those people, the customers whom I was privileged to serve.
Birch River Financial was born from a desire to be more than a service provider. I wanted to create a place where our customers feel at home, where each of them is personally known by name. I wanted to create a firm that places more emphasis on people, and less focus on the transaction.
A place where their goals are understood and their dreams are supported.
